Bike to Work and School Day is May 18, 2012!
Planning is underway for Bike to Work and School Day - 2012! Volunteer to make this year's Bike Day a smashing success. Planning meetings are scheduled for the first Wednesday of each month, February through May, 2012.
The first meeting is on February 1st at 6pm at the Whatcom Council of Governments offices: 314 E. Champion Street. Subsequent meetings are on March 7, April 4, and May 2.

Planning and volunteer ideas are needed for Bike Month Events, including:
- Celebration Stations (on Friday, May 18)
- Distribution site – preparing all the goodies
- School celebrations – staffing or encouraging more schools
- Prizes – inviting donations and collecting goodies
- Summer Rides – Enjoy one or two social rides as a helper
- Bike to Shop – more days or ways to celebrate cycling during Bike Month
- Pump-you-up Booth – Farmers’ Market table and flat tire fix
- Bike Parade Drill Team – be part of groups of cyclists performing in the month’s 3 parades
- Bike Month kick-off reception – plan a celebration on the 30th of April
- Bike to Work and School Day evening celebration – plan a fun evening on the 18th of May
